Haritaki in Sanskrit means "take away all the diseases".
The Latin name is Terminalia Chebula / Chebulic myrobalan, which belongs to the Combretaceae family, is known as the king of herbal medicine, and traditional Chinese physician calls it “he zi” (苛子) in Mandarin. Many images of Buddhist pharmacist Buddha often show him carrying the fruits and flowers of "Haritaki". It is considered as an uplifting spirit that can enhance intelligence, wisdom and fearlessness.
